December 22, 2009 My Harvest America launched; it is a network marketing opportunity that claims to offer huge savings on nonperishable items. While visiting family this weekend for Christmas I was chatting with one of the guests and she told me about this opportunity when I mentioned to her that I am an Internet Marketing Coach and Mentor.I, personally, would not join a company that just launched. My mentor shared his belief that millionaires are mainly created when a MLM company is in the momentum stage of growth. These are the four stages of growth:

1)pre-launch

2)Foundation

3) momentum

4) Stability

There are no crystal balls in network marketing, therefore it cannot be predicted whether or not a company will be around for years to come. In the foundation stage it is a waiting game to see if your investment was worth it. My Harvest America is in the foundation stage. It is not likely that a person who joins a company in the stability stage will become a millionaire. A company that has reached the stability stage has been around for over 15 years. Companies that are in the stability stage are Mary Kay and Avon.

After doing some research on the My Harvest America I came across a forum and there was a post, allegedly, from a new member of My Harvest Ameria. Here is what they had to say:

Well I decided to give MHA a chance and signed up before the mass emails went out. Now before I start, let me just say that I'm not here to bash the company or anyone who decides to promote it. I'm only giving my perspective from someone who actually got to see "inside"

After I signed up, I went directly to my store to test shop. I was VERY disappointed to see that 75% of the brands I use were NOT available. Yes, 75%
From the dog food we use, the chips we eat, feminine products, laundry detergent, fabric softner, etc. - our brands were just not there. They did have name brand items but not what WE use and are accustomed to. There is a plethura of generic brands and brands I've never even heard of. (obviously, your best prices are on these)
As far as the savings, I was not impressed. The prices on name brands they DO carry are lower than what Walmart sells them for but not by much. Not enough to justify a $30-$40 membership fee anyway. A few cents and a dollar or two here and there.

I want to also mention that something just didn't "feel" right about shopping online for my groceries. I couldn't touch the products or look at expiration dates, etc. I also kept thinking about all the stuff I was still gonna have to go to the store for because they didn't have my brands.

When I hit the check out button, I noticed that my order total had been cut in half and all my items were not listed. (I tested again this morning with the same outcome) Now maybe it's a system flaw OR maybe there's a cap on how much you can order at a time.

I was given a shipping total of approximately $29 (which stated it would be paid by MHA) That's as much as my monthly fee!! So how can MHA sustain itself??? (maybe the reason for a cap on orders??)

I did not place my order as it was only a "test" shop.

I'm not sure who it was that said a customer will ALWAYS save more than their monthly fee but I happen to know that's NOT correct. A team member paid $52 for $80 in groceries. She saved $28!! Her monthly fee just cancelled out those savings.

All in all, I would say that my original thoughts/assumptions were correct. Fortunately for me, I was granted a FULL refund within hours of requesting it. Even though the terms say NO REFUND ON THE ANNUAL FEE, I was still credited back the full $69.90.

Bottom line, I was VERY disappointed with the savings and the products offered. Totally not worth the fees to be a member.

Before you join any company remember to do your due diligence! I can only offer you my opinion, the decision is ultimately yours.
